BCM325 Part1 Blog post-Critical Self Redlection of Live Film Analysis

This article is my analysis and reflection on the three films screened by BCM325 to judge my understanding of the content of the films and my self-reflection on the interactive criticism. I was very interested in this new model of learning analysis, because I had never experienced anything so special before. By watching movies in class and analyzing the plots of movies, I learn theoretical knowledge in class. On the one hand, I exercise the expression of language ability, on the other hand, I strengthen the knowledge of theoretical study and practical application. This learning method is much more effective than the relatively boring learning and then collecting and preparing materials. Not only that, after expressing your personal understanding of the film, you can quickly check the opinions of other students or mentors and put forward corresponding views for your reference, which can quickly let you understand the theoretical ideas brought by the film from multiple perspectives. So in the first film analysis, I got very fast feedback and good influence.

This was the first time I published a film analysis, and I was very happy to receive an immediate response from all quarters. However, at the same time, I also found my own shortcomings in understanding different perspectives. Words that are too strong on personal views have lost the state of objective evaluation of the film, which makes it difficult for me to express my own thoughts and analysis that are objective enough in subsequent films.

Starting from the analysis of the second movie, my question gradually began to be exposed. After writing about my understanding and analysis of movies, I found that people do not have as much attraction to text as to pictures. In my opinion, the combination of understanding the content of movies and theoretical knowledge requires words to present your personal opinions and judgments. However, it is precisely this factor that deprives people of the desire and ideas to explore it. On the contrary, when you add corresponding pictures and movie clips for analysis, it can attract people to stop and watch. This is what I need to improve. So, my second movie reflection only received a thumbs up and no comments below, which made me feel terrible, even though I thought I wrote it well. At the same time, I noticed that some students are using AI tools to complete movie parsing work. I don’t know if this is allowed, but can personal explanations of movie AI or future technology really be described through AI tools? I don’t think so, so I still insist on using my own ideas and words to describe my personal analysis of the movie.

The commentary on the last movie of the trilogy made me feel sad. Because in fact, I put a lot of effort into describing the movie Ghost in The Shell. I watched this movie when I was very young, and it had great ideological and educational significance for me. It was also my first real exposure to the theoretical significance of AI and cyberpunk. After analyzing the plot of the movie frame by frame, I roughly summarized the content of the movie and raised constructive questions in combination with today’s society, such as “Is the progress and development of the technological era good or bad for our society?” “In fact, the means of future technology are created by humans to satisfy their own desires!” As well as the initial exploration and understanding of the cyberpunk style world by humans in the early stages, it has played a good leading role in future films with the same style or theme style. At the same time, I also added camera scenes, especially the realistic depiction of cyberpunk style in the movie. It is said that all the content of this movie is hand drawn. So this is a true exploration of future technology by early people without the use of any technological tools, such as chat, gpt, and other applications. When I was looking forward to receiving a lot of comments and likes, reality poured cold water on me. I didn’t receive any comments or likes until the end of the course. This has been very challenging for me, and I am looking forward to discussing with classmates or mentors who also love this movie to determine whether my ability to analyze in real-time has improved during this period of learning.

In the future, film analysis will undergo significant changes due to technological advancements and societal trends. With the rise of social media, traditional film critics are no longer the sole authority; a multitude of voices, including bloggers and video creators, now contribute diverse perspectives online. Additionally, the development of artificial intelligence offers new possibilities for film analysis. AI systems can delve into films, extracting key insights and even offering personalized recommendations based on user preferences. However, challenges arise, such as the potential for bias in AI systems and the risk of traditional critics being overshadowed. Nevertheless, the future promises a more varied and intelligent landscape for film analysis, enhancing the audience’s viewing experience while maintaining the need for critical thinking and human understanding.

From these three movies, it is not difficult to find that future technology has gradually come from people’s beautiful yearning to the real world. In the early days, people could only put these ideas in movies. Now, artificial intelligence applications such as Chat gpt, smart home, mobile phone, computer, and some other Ai systems have already existed in our lives. People’s exploration of science and technology and judgment of the possibility of future science and technology development are not limited to thinking patterns. This diversity fosters future possibilities.

BCM214 individual summary of my group presentation Pitch

Our division of labor for this speech is very clear. I have listed twelve sub-points, mainly to lay the foundation and provide accurate theoretical support for our topic of food waste. The part I am responsible for is the food standard, the summary of target customers, the needs of special groups and the similar examples and methods of using the app. I googled a lot of examples and references and put them in our group documentation. After the clear division of labor, I integrated the materials and wrote a speech at the same time. During the speech process, I thought our group’s theoretical knowledge and data support were perfect, which was very good in this link. After that, I took on the task of group activity for the speech. We are thinking about the content of group activities, and we have been thinking for a long time about what would be the best combination of games and interactivity. So I made use of a small Chinese program called I Have you have not, and adapted some elements of it to create the first activity of our group activity. I searched the Internet for some common food waste processes and videos, and then played them to everyone one by one, and asked them whether they had done such things while watching, hoping that everyone would realize that food waste is completely happening around us. But I admit there’s a lot I can do to improve. For example, I should regroup people before the game starts, and then start scoring points for each group, adding one point if you’ve done one of the things, and the person with the fewest points wins. At the same time, prepare some small gifts to arouse everyone’s enthusiasm, which will make our first group activity more interesting and energetic.

Summariz:

Generally speaking, this speech did not meet the expectations in my heart, and there are still many areas for improvement. Especially after watching the speeches of other groups, I summed up several questions. First, our content of the topic is not perfect enough, and the technical requirements for the extension of the topic and practical operation are not in line with reality. Second, I did not master the rhythm of the speech very well. I still want to learn from my two team members here. After all, my English is not that good, so their support and help for me are very good. Third, the arrangement of group activities was not as vivid as that of other groups, because I was in charge of the first part of the group activities. Perhaps due to communication problems, the group activities arranged in the follow-up preparation did not observe the group activities I designed, so the following group activities were not so well connected. This also fully shows that our cooperation is not so compatible, but in general, we still show our theme and the central idea of expression to everyone. I hope to get the teacher’s understanding and hope to perform more perfectly in the next activity.

BCM112 Pitch

Through the first three weeks of study, I have basically determined my DA. At the very beginning, I hoped to continue the contents of my BCM206 and BCM302 projects and continue to complete them. But this week, my thinking has changed. Because my previous project was to establish a club to enable students who are about to join uow University or want to know about uow University to integrate into the study and life of uow University more quickly, and then create a physical business card with a two-dimensional code on it. You can use your phone to scan a QR code to get an AI assistant to help you solve problems you have in school. This didn’t seem like a challenge to me, so I changed my DA content. I wanted to create a physical object that people from different countries could understand and communicate with each other for a purpose. So I chose a bracelet. Because of the influence of my sister and girlfriend, I also began to understand the culture of bracelets. In fact, each country has a different understanding of the hand string, different styles and different materials represent different meanings, for example, there are religious Buddhism bodhi, there are lucky factors on behalf of the crystal, there are on behalf of health and peace of turquoise, and so on some different bracelets. Therefore, I hope to create a style that includes a Chinese style bracelet and can add other different meanings, so that everyone can have different bracelets and give it different meanings. I went to glebe market for the first time on March 16, 2024. To my surprise, most of the buyers were from different countries, and most of them would ask about the material and meaning of the bracelet. It was a successful attempt.

I will continue to try to understand and sell in the later stage, and gradually expand to online sales and promotion. The choice of streaming platform will be Instagram, which will be of great help to the image and promotion of our product.

BCM300 Blog1 “Playing Bord role- playing games in class”

In the final semester of my university journey, I embarked on a unique academic adventure by enrolling in BCM300, a course that delved into the realm of board role-playing games. As a Chinese international student with no prior exposure to such classes, I found myself intrigued by the prospect of exploring different board games and experiencing a diverse range of emotions within the classroom setting. Over the course of several sessions, I underwent a transformation in my perception and understanding of games, thanks to the immersive gameplay and the insights shared by my peers and instructors.

Understanding Games

Before delving into the specifics of the board role-playing games we encountered in BCM300, it is essential to establish a fundamental understanding of what constitutes a game. From my perspective, a game can be defined as a social activity driven by the fulfillment of both material and spiritual needs, governed by predetermined rules within a defined time and space. In a thought-provoking lecture titled “What is a Game?”, we explored the intricate interplay between the rule system and narrative elements that define the essence of a game.

In essence, a game creates a microcosm—a world complete with characters, structures, and systems—where players navigate through a series of rules to achieve predefined objectives. These rules serve as the framework for the game’s narrative, imbuing it with meaning and coherence, while the narrative elements enrich the gameplay experience, providing context and immersion.(Moore,2021).

Diverse Types of Board Role-Playing Games

The realm of board role-playing games encompasses a myriad of genres and formats, each offering a unique gameplay experience. From text-based negotiation games to physically demanding challenges, the spectrum of possibilities is vast and varied.

Text negotiation table games rely on linguistic prowess and persuasive communication, often incorporating elements of deception and intrigue to captivate players. Despite their reliance on verbal interaction, these games remain anchored to the traditional tabletop format, albeit augmented by the inclusion of simple game pieces or cards.

Graphic creative table games, on the other hand, prioritize visual expression and creativity, fostering a deeper understanding of spatial relationships and narrative construction. Through the manipulation of graphical elements and textual prompts, players engage in a collaborative storytelling experience, where imagination knows no bounds.

Physical operation table games elevate gameplay to a kinetic level, requiring players to perform physical actions to advance the game. Whether simulating real-world scenarios or pushing the limits of dexterity and coordination, these games offer a dynamic and immersive gaming experience.

Map strategy games constitute a broad category encompassing various strategic elements, including resource management, territorial control, and psychological warfare. Utilizing maps and an assortment of props, players engage in strategic decision-making, employing logic and foresight to outmaneuver their opponents.

Simulated war games transport players to the heart of epic conflicts, spanning vast territories and intricate battlefields. With detailed rules governing unit actions and capabilities, these games offer a comprehensive simulation of military strategy, blending historical accuracy with tactical depth.

Among these diverse genres, tabletop role-playing games (RPGs) stand out for their emphasis on storytelling and character development. Anchored by a central narrative framework, these games empower players to inhabit and evolve their characters, shaping the course of the narrative through their actions and decisions.(Simon,2024).

Exploring Themes and Settings: A Case Study of “King of Tokyo”

To illustrate the diversity of board role-playing games, let us delve into the thematic and mechanical intricacies of a recent game played in the BCM300 class: “King of Tokyo.”

Theme: In “King of Tokyo,” players assume the roles of monstrous creatures, towering robots, or enigmatic aliens vying for dominance over the titular city. As they unleash destruction upon Tokyo and engage in fierce combat with rival monsters, they vie to claim the coveted title of “King of Tokyo.”

Setting: The game unfolds against the backdrop of a vibrant and chaotic metropolis, where towering skyscrapers provide the battleground for epic clashes between colossal beings. With its thematic elements drawing inspiration from Japanese pop culture and kaiju films, “King of Tokyo” immerses players in a world of larger-than-life monsters and epic showdowns.

Gameplay Mechanics: At its core, “King of Tokyo” is a dice-based game where players roll dice to determine their actions and outcomes. Each turn unfolds in a series of strategic choices, as players decide whether to attack their rivals, heal their wounds, or unleash devastating special abilities. The dynamic interplay of dice rolls and card effects ensures that no two games play out exactly alike, keeping players engaged and on their toes.

Strategic Depth: While “King of Tokyo” may appear deceptively simple at first glance, beneath its surface lies a wealth of strategic depth and tactical nuance. Players must weigh the risks and rewards of each decision, balancing offensive maneuvers with defensive tactics to outmaneuver their opponents. Whether seizing control of Tokyo or strategically timing their attacks, victory hinges on shrewd decision-making and calculated risk-taking.(“King of Tokyo Board Game Rules”).
Personal Reflections on Gameplay Experience

Having immersed myself in the world of “King of Tokyo,” I emerged with a newfound appreciation for the complexities of board role-playing games. The game’s fusion of thematic immersion and strategic depth captivated my imagination, transporting me to a realm where monsters roamed free and chaos reigned supreme.

One aspect of the game that particularly resonated with me was its incorporation of Japanese cultural elements, from the iconic monster designs to the frenetic pace of gameplay. As I navigated the streets of Tokyo, battling rival monsters and vying for control of the city, I felt a sense of exhilaration unlike any other.

Furthermore, the game’s emphasis on player choice and agency allowed me to craft my own narrative within the confines of the game world. Whether unleashing devastating attacks or forging alliances with fellow players, I felt empowered to shape the course of the game through my actions and decisions.

Despite my initial disappointment at the lack of distinct abilities among the different monster characters, I soon realized that the true essence of the game lay not in individual abilities, but in the strategic interactions between players. Each roll of the dice brought with it a sense of anticipation and excitement, as I eagerly awaited the outcome of my actions.

In hindsight, it was not the final outcome of the game that mattered most, but rather the journey itself—the moments of triumph and defeat, the laughter and camaraderie shared with fellow players. “King of Tokyo” had transcended its status as a mere board game, evolving into a shared experience that brought us together in a celebration of creativity, strategy, and sheer fun.
Conclusion

In conclusion, my journey through the BCM300 board role-playing games class has been a revelatory experience, challenging my preconceptions and expanding my horizons in unexpected ways. From exploring the diverse genres of tabletop gaming to immersing myself in the thematic richness of games like “King of Tokyo,” I have gained a deeper appreciation for the artistry and complexity of game design.

As I embark on the next chapter of my academic and personal journey, I carry with me the lessons learned and memories forged during my time in BCM300. Board role-playing games may be mere diversions for some, but for me, they represent a gateway to boundless creativity, imagination, and social interaction. In a world fraught with uncertainty and complexity, games offer a refuge—a space

BCM303 A3 Creative Brief

Through the previous stage of group collaboration, we quickly established the theme and information. This time we are choosing whether the information disseminated by public media has authenticity. Nowadays, the vast majority of people understand and learn information obtained from television, computers, and social media. However, in the era of new media, any medium for disseminating information has unstable and incomplete factors, so it is important to distinguish the information disseminated on the internet. We hope that through this project, everyone can understand that in the generation and dissemination of a large amount of information nowadays, there are many false information. We need to have basic identification ability to determine what information can be trusted and what information cannot be trusted. After a long discussion, we hope to break away from the original framework and construct a more interesting activity, so we put forward the idea of a game show. We hope to use a game Q&A method to make everyone feel firsthand how information subtly affects their judgment. The initial work allocation is as follows: the task I assigned was the host. I am very happy that other team members have entrusted me with the task of setting up questions and preparing various Q&A games to run the entire event, as it is very important. But I am also well aware of the difficulty of this task and my English proficiency is still a bit inferior compared to the locals, so I volunteered to handle other tasks of this game show, such as the pace of the event and creating an atmosphere for the audience.

We had a very smooth and happy communication process in our personal group. They were very friendly and enthusiastic towards me, the Chinese person who suddenly joined us. I often asked them for their opinions and ideas on the activities. Their replies and patient suggestions were very helpful to me every time. After the project was established, they also communicated with me and listened to my thoughts and opinions, In my opinion, this communication mode is very efficient and the fastest way to produce results. At the end of the performance, I had a good control over the atmosphere and atmosphere of the event. During the event, I also observed everyone’s expressions and movements to make the entire event go on happily. After the end of the performance, my team members all came over and told me that today’s performance was an unexpected surprise, which made me very happy and represented a beautiful ending to our cooperation.

BCM313 A3 blog

The video content of this interview consists of three parts, each of which has a separate question. The first part is career planning. The video content he explained is based on his experience. In his opinion, when you want to determine your future lifelong career, you should try different professions and meet different people, so that you can clearly know what you want and what your job is. The first question is to describe an experience that influenced your future career. Accumulate different experiences to determine which industry you are interested in or can gain a deeper understanding of. For different national backgrounds and cultures, he believes that the most important thing is to put people first. As we all know, China is a human society, and the most important thing is the communication between people. For his industry, the most important thing is to communicate with partners or customers to promote and sell Baijiu. In other jobs, if one can have good communication methods and techniques with colleagues, clients, and even leaders, then they can naturally adapt well to work arrangements and changes. In the second part, my theme is attitude towards work. Then the question I raised is what do you think your strengths and weaknesses will have an impact on you in this huge industry. Through communication with him, we can learn that in any industry, your understanding and learning of this industry are indispensable. For example, his Baijiu industry, even though he has made such high achievements, still cannot meet the high standards of his heart for this industry, which is his own encouragement and also a high requirement for himself. We call him the spirit of craftsmanship. The so-called craftsman actually refers to the spiritual concept that craftsmen meticulously carve out their products. Its connotation is to strive for excellence, pay attention to details, be rigorous and focused, and be exquisite and specialized, which is commonly lacking in various industries in today’s impetuous society. There is an ancient Chinese saying that goes, ‘You need to love the industry you choose. Only if you wholeheartedly pursue the goals you want, can the results not be very bad even if they do not meet your standards for this industry.’.In the third part, the content explained is the significance of work. My question is, does your work contribute to society? For the vast majority of people, the primary reason for working is to meet their material needs. However, in the opinion of the interviewees, if you need to reach a higher level of satisfaction after meeting certain material needs, you need to learn to give back to society. Therefore, I specifically cited Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory to introduce this part of the content, which is also a difficult point for everyone to understand when watching interview videos. Let me briefly introduce it. The first problems that people need to solve are survival, food, water, and sleep. Then comes the issue of life safety, followed by the need to love and be loved. Next comes the recognition of dignity by others, and finally comes self actualization, which is becoming the person you want to be. In my opinion, most people wander between the third and fourth levels. Many people believe that the meaning of self actualization is to earn a lot of money, buy a great house or a great car, and then they will be satisfied. However, this short-term satisfaction will become empty after you reach it, but the satisfaction after giving back and helping society will make you very proud. We Chinese people have an ancient saying called ‘giving roses to others, leaving a lingering fragrance in our hands’. When you help or give back to society, you are also realizing your own life value. In the practical life of the interviewees, because in China, the number of people who drink Baijiu is extremely large, especially the 65-80 year old people who drink the most. So in his distillery, it is stipulated that elderly people over the age of 65 can come to the factory for free to drink. Not only that, he also solved the employment problem for young people. Because the distillery was built in a town in China, where the educational resources are not very excellent, most people choose to work outside, and the children left behind can only work in low-income jobs because they have not received much culture. And his appearance has solved the employment problem for these young people and is also a way of giving back to society.Through the entire interview, we can learn about a middle-aged Chinese entrepreneur’s initial suggestions for career planning, his understanding of work attitude in the middle, and finally how his ultimate goal of work has changed and influenced me. I also very much hope to find my own lifelong job and realize personal value in my future academic life, which is the significance this course brings to me.

BCM206 A3 individual report

Through this stage of project development and task progress, our project has also got a new breakthrough. In the last phase, we guided our physical technology and virtual technology through the introduction of preliminary information. In short, it is expected that uow University will set up a virtual AI character to help international students solve the problems of campus life when they first come to school and Australia. Our initial work is finished. A laser-cut business card with our club logo and a QR code printed on it. By scanning the QR code with your mobile phone, you will get a video explanation of the AI robot, which briefly introduces the culture and basic role of our club. This is the completion of our mission in the previous phase. In this stage of development, I believe that in order to promote and publicize this project, the character of AI as a virtual image should become tangible, so that everyone can deeply feel its existence and significance.

First of all, our audience is every student and teacher who chooses uow University in Australia, so this group should be the young group that occupies the main share. So choose something that appeals to this age group so that they will be interested and willing to learn more about our information culture. So how to use physical things to make virtual AI characters tangible and meet the appeal of modern young people for this thing is the biggest problem. In my opinion, the thing that can attract young people’s things is fashion culture, such as clothes, dolls, skateboards and so on. In recent years, a blind box toy called POP MART was born in the Chinese market, which is a trend cultural entertainment brand established in 2010. In the past ten years of development, POP MART has built a comprehensive operation platform covering the whole industry chain of fashion toys, focusing on five fields: global artist mining, IP incubation and operation, consumer reach, fashion play culture promotion, innovative business incubation and investment. Through the development of these years, it also has a great influence in Australia, in the downtown of Sydney also has three stores for sale, and is very popular with locals. And the way you buy it is very special. It’s called a blind box. Blind box refers to the toy box that consumers can not know the specific product style in advance, and has random properties. Born in Japan, this trend was originally called mini figures, but after becoming popular in Europe and the United States, it became known as blind box. As a trend toy, the blind box accurately cuts into the young consumer market, and many “blind box +” business models such as archaeological blind boxes, stationery blind boxes, beauty blind boxes, snack blind boxes, etc., are also rapidly emerging. Blind box culture originated in the United States and developed in Japan. The so-called blind box, as the name suggests, is that the box contains a variety of cute doll hands, but the box is not marked with the specific one, with its limited model of hunger marketing, greatly stimulating consumers’ desire to buy and re-buy. So turning our virtual tech AI personas into blind boxes to issue purchases is the next development goal.

As the project progressed, we quickly ran into problems. The choice of physical technology is difficult for us to make. Because our initial character model is built by AI, its character details and outline lines are extremely complex, so in 3D printing and 3D scanning we do not know how to make choices. The survey found that 3D scanning printing is done by using devices such as lasers or optical sensors to scan the actual object to obtain its geometry and structure information. The scanned point cloud data can be converted into a three-dimensional model, which can be manufactured into a solid entity through 3D printing technology. 3D printing is a manufacturing technology that converts digital three-dimensional models into solid objects by stacking materials layer by layer. According to the characteristics of the printing material, it can be divided into plastic printing, metal printing and other different types. It all seems to meet our requirements but cost control is really difficult to predict. For virtual technology, I think Online tribes should be chosen. Because for the development of the later project, we will customize or customize different AI character images according to the different personal needs of each student who enters the club, so different character entity models will be made for different character images. I hope to design a community group similar to the discussion group, where everyone can design and discuss with each other, and then send their satisfactory works to this discussion group, so that our designers can customize your private model according to your ideas. Meanwhile, after creating the model, we will put the vector diagram into the group to share the details of our model design with everyone. People can discuss and refine it into a complete work, then the project can be a real success.

The idea of the whole project is based on my admission letter from a Chinese university. After the completion of the task in the first stage, the teachers and students received a great response, which in my opinion is very successful. Therefore, for the task development and ideas of the second stage, I was also the leader. Through the last lecture, I carefully observed and listened to the project content of other study groups. I found that most of them were physical goods such as clothes or hand-made toys. This reminds me of POP MART blind box, a very popular toy in China in recent years. It will be co-branded with the most popular anime, fairy tales or even game characters to create different model tasks for sale. The price is much cheaper than that of regular model tasks. So I reintroduced this concept to create our physical merchandise, and the blind box AI character became the next part of our project development.

In summary, the UOW ISA Community Offer Letter Project is a pioneering effort that goes beyond the typical approach to induction and transforms the international student experience at the University of Wollongong. The program combines customized acceptance letters, carved business cards, and AI-powered virtual assistants to generate a sense of belonging, support, and community. These issues and concerns highlight the importance of strategic management, while the outlook points to possibilities for continuous progress and expansion. By addressing these issues, UOW not only ensures a seamless integration of foreign students, but also increases global discussion on new approaches to higher education. The initiative embodies UOW’s commitment to creating a transformational and inclusive learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds. In combination with the current most popular trend culture, the creation of trend products or even the emergence of joint physical products represents the trend that the uow University community in Australia is in line with The Times and willing to understand and contact the culture of young groups, and constantly update social real-time resources to make students from all over the world yearn for and choose Australian universities. I think the later development of this project needs more complete data and rigorous technology to ensure that the project can appear in the public eye as soon as possible!

BCM302 peer review A2 part2

Through peer review with shoyuhaman and Jackson T, we shared and introduced each other’s project content and room for improvement. For my project, the advice they gave me was that the development and application of virtual technology at the core of the project and how to correctly use concepts to tell the content of the project were the most important, while the later development of the project was also very difficult for the expansion of the physical image and the selection and application of physical technology. Because of the excessive details of the model, if 3D printing is used, the cost and output effect may not reach the expected impression, so the substantive improvement of the character image needs to be adjusted in the later stage. I am also very interested in the content of their projects. For example, shoyuhaman mentioned that his project is to make a VR game. As far as I know, in the VR game experience, many people have very positive feedback, so how to stand out in the game is a problem he needs to consider. At present, the variety of games and the difficulty and freedom of development are very strict standards, so it is a factor that needs to be considered in terms of appeal and audience. As for Jackson T’s project, I am actually the most interested. He needs to have a solid learning of media editing and operation within one or two months before he can complete his project. Even though the project content is not mature at present, the difficulties and challenges he needs to face in the follow-up work are far more than my project. I learned a lot and was very happy to discuss the project with them.

The UOW ISA Community Admission Letter Project is at the forefront of creative activities aimed at improving the experience of international students arriving at Australia’s University of Wollongong (UOW). Recognizing the specific problems that students confront while joining a new academic and cultural context, the concept reinvents the classic acceptance letter with personalization and technology integration. Each admission letter is more than just a formal greeting; it is a portal to a full support system. This program focuses on an engraved business card with a two-dimensional code connecting students to Octavia, an AI-powered virtual assistant. This paper discusses the project’s aims, execution, benefits, drawbacks, and potential for creating a more inclusive and supportive international student community at UOW.

2.0 Project Overview

Redesign of Admission Letter

The project begins with a comprehensive redesign of the standard acceptance letter sent to international students. This detour from standard communication is intended to go beyond formality and serve as a personalized welcome to the academic experience. The updated acceptance letter seeks to establish an immediate relationship with potential students, establishing a warm and welcoming environment.

Personalization

Each admission letter is precisely tailored to the specific needs of each international student. This personal touch aims to provide a favorable first impression and alleviate any initial fears about transferring to a new country and university. By customizing communication to each student, the university seeks to demonstrate its commitment to the well-being and accomplishment of its diverse student group.

Customized Business Card

The plan requires the inclusion of an engraved business card within the entrance letter. This tangible artifact has the UOW ISA symbol as well as a two-dimensional code. The business card reflects the university’s commitment to blending classic and modern elements. The two-dimensional code on the card unlocks a one-of-a-kind virtual experience for the potential student.

Artificial Intelligence Virtual Assistant with Two-Dimensional Coding

The two-dimensional code on the business card grants access to Octavia, a powerful artificial intelligence-driven virtual assistant. This virtual assistant is designed to assist overseas students with a variety of aspects of their transition to the University of Western Ontario. Octavia becomes a complete resource available to students at their fingertips, giving information on campus resources and academic help as well as assistance with cultural events and nearby services

Integration of Tangible and Digital

The engraved business card is a physical representation of the digital environment, representing the meeting of old and modern aspects. The combination of actual items and cutting-edge technology highlights the university’s dedication to providing a holistic onboarding experience. When scanned, the actual business card connects students to the digital domain, enabling a dynamic connection between the two.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

The UOW ISA Community Admission Letter Project is not a one-time project; it builds the groundwork for ongoing progress and innovation. The project incorporates technology breakthroughs and refining potential. As the institution evolves, so will the initiative, ensuring that it remains at the forefront of revolutionary practices in foreign student onboarding.

3.0 Benefits of the project

A higher-quality experience for foreign students at the University of Wollongong will be made possible through the UOW ISA Community Admission Letter Project. These advantages go beyond streamlined administration to foster a more welcoming, accepting, and interesting learning atmosphere for students of all backgrounds. The most important benefit is that an individualized and warm orientation to UOW has been established for international students (Breines & Gallagher, 2023). The revised acceptance letters do more than serve as a formal recognition; by addressing each student by name, they establish a personal connection. This personalized touch helps create less anxiety about starting in a new academic and cultural environment.

The engraved business cards featuring the UOW ISA logo and a two-dimensional code are a memento that may be given to potential students. This artefact serves as a bridge between the analog and digital realms, symbolizing the union of antiquity and modernity. The business cards are a nice memento, but they also make people feel more connected to the UOW ISA. Carrying one of these cards is a tangible way for students to maintain a connection to their alumni institution even after they have graduated (Jayawardena, Ross & Grace, 2020). The introduction of Octavia, an AI-powered virtual assistant, changes the virtual environment in terms of providing comprehensive assistance to students studying abroad. The powers of Octavia extend well beyond the norm of information distribution. It evolves into an individual assistant that helps with schoolwork, cultural pursuits, and community resources. The students have access to an AI-powered support system that can help them adjust to college life and overcome the challenges they face there.

By interacting with Octavia after scanning the card’s 2D code, students become part of a lively online community. This early integration develops a sense of camaraderie and mutual support among international students, resulting in the formation of a network that crosses geographical boundaries (Luan et al., 2020). As a consequence, students feel more connected, which reduces the sensation of isolation that often accompanies studying abroad. The initiative has substantial marketing potential for the university as well. favorable word-of-mouth marketing is aided by overseas students’ favorable experiences with individualized acceptance letters and the AI-driven support system. This genuine advertising has the potential to impact prospective students by presenting UOW as an institution that cares about the well-being and smooth integration of its foreign student population.

4.0 Challenges and Considerations

Implementing the UOW ISA Community Admission Letter Project involves several problems and issues that must be carefully considered for the effort to be successful. These issues include technical aspects, cultural sensitivity, and concerns about sustainability, all of which need strategic planning and continuous management (Kuleto et al., 2021). One of the key issues is assuring the smooth operation of the AI-powered virtual assistant, Octavia, and the two-dimensional code scanning procedure. Technical faults, software flaws, or compatibility concerns might stymie students’ interactions with Octavia. To handle any disturbances and provide a great user experience, continuous monitoring, upgrades, and technical assistance are required. In addition, the foreign student body at UOW is extremely varied, representing a wide range of cultures, languages, and backgrounds. To minimize unintended misunderstandings or misinterpretations, Octavia, the AI virtual assistant, must be developed with cultural sensitivity in mind(Vincent-Lancrin & Van der Vlies, 2020). Octavia’s comments and material should be tailored to match varied cultural standards, delivering a welcoming and inclusive experience for all students.

Maintaining the project’s long-term viability is a vital factor. The expenses of personalizing acceptance letters, engraving business cards, and continual AI development must be carefully handled. The financial viability of the project is dependent on proper budgeting, prospective collaborations, and finding cost-cutting possibilities without sacrificing the quality of the service offered (Tahiru, 2021). The success of the project depends on its flawless integration with current university systems. Coordination with multiple departments, such as admissions, information technology, and student services, is critical to ensuring that the project fits into the larger university infrastructure (Zhai et al., 2021). Any misalignment or lack of integration might lead to inefficiencies and reduce the overall efficacy of the project.

Introducing a novel system such as Octavia necessitates extensive user training as well as a plan for driving mass adoption. Students must be educated on the advantages of engaging with Octavia and utilizing two-dimensional coding. A detailed communication plan that highlights the benefits of the project and gives step-by-step instructions on how to use it is essential for promoting active involvement (Buchanan et al., 2022). Because the virtual assistant handles sensitive information, data security and privacy are critical issues. To secure students’ personal information, the project must follow strict data protection rules. Clear information regarding data security procedures will also assist in creating confidence among consumers and alleviate privacy worries. Maintaining long-term participation within the ISA community is also a constant issue(Lambrecht et al., 2022). The success of the initiative is dependent on students actively participating in the virtual community and making use of the tools supplied by Octavia. Continuous efforts to build a sense of belonging, encourage involvement, and collect feedback are required to keep a dynamic and supportive community alive.

5.0 prospects

The UOW ISA Community Admission Letter Project has great long-term possibilities beyond its first deployment. Opportunities for project growth, refinement, and deeper integration within the university’s structure become evident as the project grows. The project’s future is dependent on the continuing improvement of Octavia’s capabilities. Octavia can expand to give even more extensive support to foreign students by utilizing advances in artificial intelligence (Steele, 2008). Language translation, specialized academic guidance, and cultural orientation might all be included, providing a comprehensive virtual guide suited to individual needs. The UOW ISA initiative’s effectiveness as well as positive effects position it as a possible model for other universities aiming to improve the international student experience (Breines & Gallagher, 2023). UOW may contribute to the larger global community of higher education institutions committed to promoting inclusive and digitally integrated learning environments by sharing insights, best practices, and the blueprint for establishing a comparable initiative.

Involving UOW alumni in the initiative can help to build a network of support for overseas students. Alumni who have direct experience overcoming the difficulties that overseas students confront can provide mentorship, guidance, and insights (Tahiru, 2021). This alumni participation not only benefits current students but also enhances the links across generations within the UOW community. In addition, the initiative provides several study possibilities into the influence of AI-driven support on foreign student achievement and well-being. Octavia’s efficacy in fostering academic integration, social adaption, and overall contentment among overseas students may be investigated in research studies. Such study findings provide vital insights to the academic community and shape the project’s ongoing progress (Buchanan et al., 2022). Finally, the UOW ISA program might look at collaborations with business partners to improve the support services available to international students. Partnerships with technological firms, cultural groups, and local service providers may broaden and improve the breadth and quality of information and help accessible through Octavia, resulting in a rich support environment for students.

6.0 Conclusion

In conclusion, the UOW ISA Community Admission Letter Project is a groundbreaking endeavor that goes beyond typical onboarding methods, transforming the international student experience at the University of Wollongong. The initiative generates a sense of belonging, support, and community by combining customized admittance letters, engraved business cards, and an AI-powered virtual assistant. The problems and concerns highlight the importance of strategic management, while the prospects demonstrate the possibility for continuous progress and expansion. By addressing these components, UOW not only assures foreign students’ seamless integration but also adds to a worldwide discourse about new approaches in higher education. The initiative exemplifies UOW’s dedication to creating a transformational and inclusive learning environment for students from varied backgrounds.

Listing essay

Through three experiences, I demonstrate my understanding and understanding of the significance of work at different times, and provide my own understanding of work and prospects for future work.

I am an international student from China. My family business is in the Baijiu industry. In Australia, the most commonly known wines are beer and foreign wine, including whiskey, vodka, and other alcoholic beverages. In China, the well-known wine is Baijiu.

As the national liquor of China, Baijiu is very competitive in the whole market. According to incomplete statistics, the number of Chinese Baijiu brands will reach 5000 by 2021. The most famous Baijiu is Moutai, which I believe people in many different countries have heard of. How can we survive as one of the 5000 Baijiu brands.

I talked about this process by interviewing a professional in the industry and combining my own experience.

Firstly,When I was sixteen years old, my father arranged for me to work in the workshop of a distillery. I would like to briefly introduce the work content of the workshop, which is to rinse, disinfect, and then pour new liquor into the recycled wine bottles before packing them. This is a process operation for a production line. The daily working hours are from 8am to 6pm. Each workshop is a team of six people, and each person is responsible for different steps. I really don’t understand that this mechanical work cannot create much value and is a great waste of human resources. It does not require you to possess any professional knowledge or skill training, as long as you carry out mechanical operations to complete the work. In my opinion, this mode of work will eventually be replaced by artificial intelligence.

Then,At the age of 20, influenced by my family and friends around me, I believed that interpersonal and communication skills were extremely important, so I chose a job selling sneakers. The entire team is composed of four people, each with a fixed monthly sales revenue. If you cannot meet the sales requirements, it means you may not even have a basic salary. In order to promote sales, my teammates and I organized a basketball game. Because our physical storefront is adjacent to two of the most famous high schools in the city, we have discussed cooperation with the basketball club in the high school, using our brand name to name a game, and then using our store’s sneakers as prizes. At the same time, the participating players also need to have a pair of our brand’s sneakers. According to this marketing strategy, our performance for the month exceeded previous years’ performance. Among them, we have created demand for our customers, while saving promotional expenses at zero cost, allowing student customers to spread themselves, while also meeting their needs. The ultimate beneficiaries are our entire team. If we compete for customer choice for personal gain, it will only lead to a decline in overall performance. However, when we choose a team cooperation model, the value created by each individual can be greatly reflected, and the final result is shared by the entire team, which is the importance of the team.
Immediately,When I was 22 years old, I chose a chain of gyms as a membership consultant through my love for the fitness industry. This is a team of five people, and on my first day of employment, I was fortunate enough to have a pleasant meeting with the CEO of the gym. He told me that the epidemic has just ended, and people’s three year long virus troubles have gradually dissipated. Our fitness industry needs to promote a concept based on this node. Exercise will change a person’s mental appearance and also make everyone’s body more resistant to the virus. As an ancient Chinese saying goes, to do a successful thing, three conditions must be met: “timing, location, and harmony, It is the exact time, at this moment, when the epidemic has just ended and people’s demand for exercise is enormous. Di Li, you have chosen the right company. Our company is the most numerous and professional in this city. Renhe, you and your team members should have the awareness of advancing and retreating together. A good membership consultant is never completed by one person, but the result of the joint efforts of the entire team. From this experience, I understand that the sales industry is not just about selling, but about becoming a member of the service industry. You are not selling this thing to customers, but making them think you are doing something good for them, so that we can achieve a satisfactory effect for each other.

Finally, based on the interview video content, it can be concluded that when facing career choices, you should try different professions more. The insights and cognition brought by different job responsibilities and teams are important experiences for clarifying your future direction in the future. Only after experiencing them can you know what you most want. The emergence of artificial intelligence for future work may face some people losing job opportunities, but it is important to be aware that what is being replaced is only meaningless work. For the job content with professional knowledge reserves, artificial intelligence is temporarily irreplaceable. For the outlook of future work, the need to realize one’s own value and the standards of giving back to society are of utmost importance.
